Getting Started

On this page I will tell you how to get started and some basic equipment you will need.

When you podcast you need a podcasting website to do it on and to save all of your work on. I use Spreaker as it is very easy to use and is a very trusted site. What is also good about this site is, when you broadcast it has a web-based console, where you have full control over the music you play and the sound effects you use. You can also download the Spreaker desktop version and the Spreaker app on Apple, Android and Windows so you can broadcast on the go. Its very easy to set up an account on Spreaker, just click this link to take you to the website Spreaker. Once you have setup your account, you are ready to start podcasting, just follow Spreakers steps and you will be ready to Podcast in no time.

Now for the equipment. Here is a checklist of the few basic things you will need:

  • Microphone

  • Laptop or Computer

  • Spreaker or other podcasting site

  • This website

  • Social Media (to share the podcasts you have done).

A good microphone is key to podcasting, there's nothing worse than listening to someone speak and you can barley hear them because of the bad sound quality. A good microphone does not have to break the bank, here are a few that I recommend:

For an optional extra for your podcast station you could make a radio jingle like the one that I had professionally made below, click this link to go to the radio jingle website.
